Naomi Swain

BSc(Hons) Acupuncture, AAC, BAF

Having gained my degree at the Northern College of Acupuncture (University of Central Lancashire) in 2012, I have been in practice ever since, as a licenced and qualified acupuncturist. I am a member of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians and the British Acupuncture Federation. I have continued to train and add to my skillset in order to provide quality care. From Supervision and Mentoring and later to Phlebotomy. My professional diploma in Coaching is ongoing.

In addition to my practice I am a supervisor and mentor for those in the helping professions and work for the AAC providing this service to their members.

I genuinely love what I do and the space I can offer in my practice, working with you toward better health and wellbeing. Now based in Hampshire I am excited to offer my services from Southampton and Eastleigh.

Before I was an acupuncturist

I spent many years in different roles, trying to find what fit for me. It was my job on a gynaecology ward in a local hospital that began to hone my direction. I knew my work motivation revolved around caring and helping others. In 2006 I was pregnant with my first son and was introduced to acupuncture through the hospital, to support my health. I actually had treatment for my hayfever and I couldn't believe how well it had worked! I even had a spring in my step, extra energy after each session. This prompted me to delve deeper and I found how my own principles aligned with Traditional Chinese Medicine teachings. Helped along by my earlier martial arts background where the philosophies on lifestyle very much resonated. I had found my path, being true to my beliefs and passion for living well and living long (yang sheng), why wouldn't I want to then use that passion and education to help others achieve their own goals.

My approach

I offer a professional and caring environment and can give time to really listen to your journey. My degree and following courses equip me with an approach based in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western models of practice, allowing me to tailor treatment to your specific needs.

Clients often comment that I provide a warm and calm atmosphere in my practice.

I welcome working with all health conditions but do hold particular interest in women's' health, from menstruation issues, natural or assisted fertility support, pregnancy care and menopausal transition. I have a big passion for supporting women with Rushing Women's Syndrome (coined by Dr Libby). It is a term that I feel most women can relate to and a big driver for me in terms of championing change for the better for you! This is where looking at the whole health picture and refining details for a better outcome can mean massive improvement.

Another great passion of mine is continued learning. CPD forms part of essential practice to ensure I offer the best service, supported by recent knowledge and research. The most recent of these being my ongoing professional diploma in coaching which involves positive psychology, neuroscience and other elements. This is hugely exciting and interesting to me as I learn more about how we work internally. I believe this will benefit my practice and clients greatly, as well as my own development.

Away from work life

Family and friends are my big love, taking time together is very important to me. I also love to travel, adventure and make memories . To keep it interesting I like to take on new challenges.
